# Highlights

A highlight is a passage of text you saved from a page. Each highlight stays linked to the page it came from, and can have its own note (annotation), tags, collection, and rating.

# Creating Highlights

Where How
Any web page Select text with the browser extension active. The highlight toolbar appears.
Right-click Choose Highlight or Save as Snippet from the context menu.
Read Mode Select text while reading an article in Read Mode.

Two settings speed this up:

  • Highlight Mode: shows the highlight toolbar as soon as you select text.
  • Auto Highlight: saves a highlight the moment you select text, with no extra click. You can also switch it on from the highlight toolbar.
