# Notes

A note is something you write yourself. Notes sit alongside your bookmarks, files, and highlights, and can be organized and linked the same way.

# Creating a Note

Use the Add button and choose Note. On iOS and Android, create one from the app's add menu.

# The Editor

The note toolbar offers:

Tool Use
Heading 1, Heading 2, Paragraph Structure your text
Checklist A list of items you can tick off
Bullet List, Numbered List Lists
Quote A block quote
Image Insert an image
Voice Dictate text instead of typing

Spell Check (and its language) can be turned on in Settings → Note.

# Connecting Notes to Other Items

Link a note to other saved items, such as a bookmark, file, or another note. Links appear under Connections on both items, so you can move between a note and the things it refers to.

# Colors and Appearance

Default Note Color Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Gray Gray
Card Style Sticky Note, Invert Color Invert Color

# Organizing Notes

Like other items, a note can have a cover image, a collection, tags, a favorite flag, read status, rating, status, a reminder, and a source. Select several notes to add tags, change their color, move, pin, archive, delete, or Export them (for example as Markdown).
